Cork Water Safety organised a radio interview between Tim, from LifeFM Cork (93.1FM), and two IWS Beach Lifeguards. Beach Lifeguard David Cotter, from Dunmanway, and Senior Lifeguard Graham Kerr, from Douglas, were stationed on Inchydoney Beach, near Clonakilty in West Cork.
The interview took place early in August 2015 and well into the bathing season. This was part of LifeFM’s ‘What’s it Like – Everyday heroes’ series. David and Graham discuss how they got into water safety and lifeguarding, some of the challenges they face every day, daily duties and responsibilities, performing rescues and providing first aid, and how to wise up to water safety at the beach.
