Swimming pools across County Cork provide dedicated training centres for individuals interested in developing essential water safety and basic life support skills. These centres offer Water Safety Ireland courses from September through to May each year, welcoming candidates of all backgrounds who wish to develop valuable lifesaving skills.
Through participation in these courses, candidates can gain recognised knowledge and practical skills that may support future employment opportunities, including roles as lifeguards. The training also provides participants with the confidence and ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations and to provide basic life support when required.
In addition to supporting employment opportunities, these courses encourage community involvement by providing individuals with the skills and knowledge to volunteer and contribute to the safety and wellbeing of others.
